The scientific activity is focused primarily on these topics:

    • Development of analytical modelling techniques for design of impact attenuators
    • Crash behaviour of automotive structures, road and racing, involving the non-linear dynamic code LS-DYNA
    • Experimental characterization of the mechanical behaviour of energy absorbers with different materials (metal, composite and foams) and geometries in uniaxial loading conditions (static and dynamic)
    • Mathematical models for geothermal heat exchangers
